Late Starting.... but here we go!

Hello! So it's been a while, I'll be honest I've found it really hard to get back into blogging as I've had so much going on. I did have a chat with Paula about deferring for a term but I'm going to hold off deciding yet.

I'm really excited about what's going on right now in my life so I thought I'd share! So far this year...

I completed my Level 2 Exercise to Music and Group Exercise Instructor course - it's given me invaluable knowledge about teaching

I was offered a full time job at Frame Studios in London as an instructor - I did turn this job down as I just have so much going on and it didn't feel like the right option for me at this time - but I was absolutely thrilled they offered it to me as they do some brilliant work at their studios - would highly recommend!

I started my Ante and Post Natal Instructor course - this is so I can teach exercise to pregnant ladies and ladies wanting to get back into exercise after having a baby. I'm really excited by this venture and am thinking of studying it more in my inquiry.

I have moved to a bigger studio for my Ballet Fitness classes due to the class being a full capacity now which I'm very pleased about. We start at the new studio in April and I've also got 2 other new classes starting - another Ballet Fitness and a class I've designed called 'After Work Power Workout' - which I've created to work all the muscles that we tend to under use due to sitting in offices all day.

So with all this going on I have found it difficult to concentrate on the degree so I'm trying to do 'little steps' as Paula suggested.

We also talked about getting into 'the zone' and how that can be different for different people. How you do get in the zone? I find I like to do a few simple stretches before sitting down. I was also given a present of a little Harry Potter Dumbledore figurine - so I'm having him as my mascot and he will watch over me whilst I work! :)

Thinking about making this degree as useful as possible to me, I definitely want my inquiry to be about teaching. I'm not sure if this will lead to how to teach in different styles, to different groups, how to be effective as a teacher and so forth.

The idea I mentioned earlier was about looking into teaching people who exercise whilst pregnant - looking about how the body changes, how the person's mood and esteem might change and how to, most importantly, teach them safely.

What do you guys think? Would love to hear from you x
